Blogging Your Way To A Profit

It is possible to make money through your blog, but the trick is finding a subject that is interesting to a niche group of readers. Millions upon millions of people search the internet everyday, so the odds of them coming across your blog are slim.  However, don't become discouraged.  Make your focus the love of writing about a specific subject or subjects, and stick to it.  If you do high quality work, your site will slowly begin to gain an audience. 

The key to a successful blog lies in getting readers to visit your site.  Once you get visitors, you can only keep them coming back by providing up to date relevant information.

Blogging should be fun

If you like being creative, blogging is for you.  Think about it, if you spend hours a day on the computer, then why not channel your efforts and provide a site for others to visit.  Once you get a few articles behind you, you will find that creating more is a snap.  Once you get started, work hard to get your blog indexed and ranked.  It is better to focus on one blog and to do it justice, than to work on numerous blogs and fail to provide quality.

The two primary ways to make money on your blogs are as follows:

A. Placing companies links on your blog page so you get paid

The main body of a blog whatever you type your article about the subject you choose. Many successful blogs have chosen one or more of the thousands of companies (over 30,000) they wish to promote. They type a short review on whichever of the company's products or services you discuss. You then direct the reader to the actual company's Web site through your special affiliate promotion links; if the person buys any of the company's products or services, you get paid a commission. Many of the companies we will show you will pay you up to 75% of the purchase price of their product, so in many cases you will make more money on a sale than the company you are promoting. 

B. Place contextual links and get paid for clicks

This is the easiest way to get paid for your blogs. You will place ad links on your blog for other companies through special services such as BidVertiser and Google AdSense Network. These two companies will place ad boxes on your blogs through a special code that will track anytime someone clicks on their ads. Clicks can generate anywhere from .03 cents per click up to $10 per click.

Work From Home As A Data Research Participant

Anyone can be a data research participant; you don't need a certain level of education to get started, but you will need is a computer and some minimal typing skills.  When you land a job, you will normally fill in an online form supplied by the employer. The online form format can range anywhere from short answer to yes and no questions. 

In order to get a sense for the type research suited for your interest, research companies will try to profile you by asking questions such as, "What type books do you read, What are your hobbies, How often do you go to the movies, Do you follow politics, etc.  If you are serious about receiving research projects, you need to be as thorough as possible when completing your profile.  If you are concerned about how your personal information will be used, make sure you read and understand the research data company's privacy policies. 

The four key demographic data points requested when you sign up to be a data researcher are:  Age, Race, Gender, Occupation.

Age - Age is a critical element because it helps define the types of things you may be interested in as well as what you may not be interested in.  Bottom-line, a 40-year-old male probably has different interest than a 16-year-old female.  In order for market research companies to target what type of surveys to send to you, it is critical that you are honest about your age. When you are chosen to participate in a survey, it is age that will have been the first and most important factor.

Gender - This is also an important factor.  Stereotypes aside, female interest and male interest tend to be different.  In addition, it has been proven that females are normally more willing to participant is data research and therefore receive more research projects than males.  Gentlemen, the market is hungry for your input.

Occupation - Occupation is normally indicative of education levels and critical thinking skills, so it does contribute to the projects being offered.  If you work in a technical field, it's possible to make up to $20 or more for a survey that has a technical focus.  The project surveys normally last about 30 minutes. Afterwards they will analyze your answers and decide whether or not you qualify for other research project surveys in this field. If you don't qualify, you will still get paid for the survey you completed. 

Race - Race is used to help determine what products are being purchased by what race of people.  Believe it or not, purchasing habits can sometimes be predicted based on the race of an individual.  This is not the case in every circumstance, and it should not be implied that using race as a factor is a form of discrimination. The research companies simply use race as another data point for building prediction models.  If done properly, a company can maximize it's profits by targeting / selling the in demand products. 

Research Projects fall into two main categories:  market research surveys and focus groups 

Market Research Surveys - A research project survey tends to center around online research projects that are in the form of a survey questionnaire.  In some cases, you log-in online to access the survey and in other instances, the survey is emailed directly to your inbox.  If you prefer to work solo, this will be your preferred method. 

Focus Groups - A focus group will always consist of a small group selected from a wider population. The goal is to predict the behavior of a population by analyzing the answers of a smaller group.  This is commonly seen during elections when various polls are used to predict how the U.S. population will vote during the national election.  In practice, a focus group ranges from seven to ten people who are picked based on their profile.  Once again, it is extremely important to be honest on your profile.

Another good site for finding online writing jobs is iWriter.  The topics are considerably greater than a lot sites and include a vast array of subject to write about.

Getting Started

With iWriter, you simply sign up and login.  As a new writer, you will start off as a standard writer and your articles will be rated by both your client and by iWriter.   You move to higher levels by producing quality articles. 

iWriter doesn’t require article submissions prior to approval.  This enables you to getting starting working online from your home immediately.  However, you are still expected to produce top quality articles. 

Projects

Select the type of writings you want to do. Your choices are articles, ebooks and rewrites.  You can also search for topics by doing a keyword search.  Once you find what you’re for, read the specifics to see if you want to accept the project.  The job will who requested it and what their approval rating is along with the specifics of the job.   Once you are satisfied, check for special instructions so you are clear of what the employer needs in the article.  Accept the job and start writing.  

Ratings and ranks

The better your ratings, the higher your pay!  It should not come as a surprise that the best jobs are reserved for the best writers. To get a top rating, you need to get to a rating of 4 stars.  Once you Essentially, you have to write at least 30 articles and have a rating of 4 stars to move to the Premium level.  In this system, you are rated by the client not iWriter, so it’s important to pick your clients carefully.  If a client has a high reject rate, they may not be worth the effort.

Tips

- Set up notifications for the topics that interest you, and get up early on Monday to scan the available articles.  Good articles are taken quickly, so don’t procrastinate.

- Focus on short articles first, so you can gain experience writing.  Once  you hit 30 articles, you can move up in rating.  Don’t worry about getting paid less because of low word counts because this is not a factor.  A 200 word article pays the same as a 300 word article.  

- Stay focus on your goal of making money while working from home and you will succeed.
